Closer

Closer
Starring: Julia Roberts, Jude Law, Natalie Portman, Clive Owen
Directed by: Mike Nichols
There is more love than hate which is how i felt about the film
** Stars
This is the story of four strangers (Roberts, Law, Portman, Owen), who meet eachother in London and consistently circles back in forth in a circular motion of instant attractions and casual betrayals.
Julia Roberts plays Anna, a photographer who seems attracted to one man named Dan (Jude Law). Dan is an author who becomes attracted to Alice (Natalie Portman), a young stripper whom he meets after she is hit by a car. She eventually bumps into Larry (Clive Owen) a lonely doctor who meets Anna. It is was circle of attraction and yet it seems incredibly square and dull.
The beginning is the worst part of the film. Alice is hit by the car and randomly Dan shows up and she says "Hello stranger". The director completely forgot describe the meaning of the words. It was suppose to signify something and nothing comes out of it.
There is not one bad performance in the movie. Owen definetly deserves a nomination but he definetly could not save this disaster from striking theaters around the globe.
